The mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is :

  • To develop full-fledged engineers in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an excellent knowledge suitable for making a successful career either in industry/research or higher education.
  • To develop students for Serving society and consolidating the principles of creative scientific, intellectual investigations and to contribute in fabricating and developing knowledge in nation building.

About the Department

Vel-Tech-University-EEE-1-768x512The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) was established in the year 1996. The Department has the state – of – the art laboratories in the areas of Electrical, Electronics in association in association with Industry such as FraceCol Technology France, B & R Automations etc., The department has the latest simulation tools and equipment’s for the conduct of experimental as well as theoretical results.

The department offers UG, PG and Ph. D programmes in the  areas of Electrical Engineering.  special Electives are offered as a part of Undergraduate programmes with the support of NASSCOM and kwality photonics. The students of this department are undertaking In-Plant Trainings and projects at Leading Industries and Research Institutes such as TANGEDCO, APGENCO, L & T, Voltech, kwality Electronics, CVRDE etc.,  Students of this department are pursuing their PG at University of Illinois Chicago USA, Texas university USA, California State University USA etc.,

The department is working on the projects in the areas of Automotive Electronics, Control Systems, Electrical Motors / Machines, Power System, Embeddes Systems, MEMS, Power Electronics & Drives and Renewable Energy.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Will design, analyze electrical / electronic equipment, system using the knowledge of Mathematics and Engineering.
  • Will provide practical solution to real time industrial & research problems and pursue higher studies.
  • Will work effectively as individual, teams in various engineering industries & government enterprises.
  • Will be lifelong learners & following ethical codes & laid down norm in their profession.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

At the time of graduation, students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program will possess:

  • Ability to apply the knowledge in Mathematics, Basic science and Engineering in all aspects of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to prepare formal technical plans leading to solutions for Electrical and Electronics systems.
  • The broad theoretical knowledge in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and methods of applying them to identify, formulate and solve practical problems.
  • Ability to apply the techniques of using appropriate tools to investigate, analyze, design, simulate and complete systems involving in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
  • Ability to assess the feasibility, applicability, optimality and future scope of power networks and apparatus.
  • Expertise to work in a team and comprehend his/her scope of work, deliverables and issues in which help is needed by other members of the team.
  • Familiarity with project management problems and basic financial principles for a multi-disciplinary work.
  • Ability to align and upgrade themselves to higher learning and research activities.
  • Ability to participate and succeed in competitive examinations like GATE, GRE and TOFEL and other competitive Examinations.
  • Ability to understanding the impact of professional, social, environmental and ethical issues and proper use of renewable resources.
  • Ability to apply theoretical in laboratory environment and will be able to work in integrated engineering problems.

Everything is going fine here, Vel Tech provides me adequate opportunity to learn and transform as skilled engineer, it even provided me several on campus placements, university take care of grievances of student at personal level through the concept of mentoring, labs of University provide me several instances to gain real-time technical skills. There are several clubs in the university which helps me to engage in extracurricular activities, university even takes initiatives which helped me to demonstrate leadership skills.

University follows the concept of Washington accord for methodically teaching, organize guest lecture, work shop & value added courses which helped me to form connection with professional world that leads to inevitable growth in professional life.

I got the opportunity to undertake my final year project as an international intern in FranceCol technology through university MoU scheme, in term with my team we worked on several new platform that was exciting to me.
