The rural areas in India are facing the problem of scarcity of economic activities and physical infrastructural facilities, whereas urban areas are facing the problem of shortage of urban infrastructure due to mass migration from rural to urban areas.
India's development trajectory is marked by growing economic prosperity but high inequality exists in the form of the rural-urban divide.
Bridging this rural-urban divide is of key significance in achieving sustainable, balanced, and inclusive socio-economic development in India.
SPMRM aims to address the advantages of clusters from both the economic and infrastructure development point of view by providing economic and physical infrastructure facilities to the clusters. This study analyzes the impact of the scheme on the lives of the respondents in the selected clusters of Tamil Nadu.
