Department of Biotechnology
Biotechnology has gained prominence, paralleling the medical field post-COVID, driven by rising demands for vaccines, enzymes, and drugs. Advances in synthetic biology, bioenergy, bioremediation, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and bio-nanotechnology have expanded its capabilities. Our Department features esteemed faculty from top institutions, specializing in Nanobiotechnology, Metabolic Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, and Biomaterials Engineering, delivering a cutting-edge curriculum. Supported by substantial funding from Central and State agencies, totaling 3.38 crores for in-house R&D, our postgraduate program, backed by the DBT PGT Program, showcases faculty expertise. Additionally, our Technology Business Incubator, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, has nurtured four faculty and two student startups, further enhancing our impact.
Department of Biomedical Engineering
Department of Biomedical Engineering was established in the year 2017 under the School of Electrical and Communication with an aim to connect engineering and biology. The department is propelling itself to become the major educator in Biomedical Instrumentation and allied engineering and had raised the standards of advanced laboratories by setting up a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) and Biomechanics. Faculty members are specialized in different domains such as Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Signal and Image Processing, Nanomaterials, Biosensors, Biochemistry and Diagnostic & Therapeutic Equipments etc.
