AICTE VAANI workshop

Inauguration

The AICTE VAANI event was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Computing, from July 5, 2024, to July 7, 2024. The Inaugural Function took place on Day 1 (July 3, 2024), in the presence of Registrar Dr. E. Kannan, Dean of R&D Dr. P. Chandrakumar, Dean of SoC Dr. S. P. Chokkalingam, invited speakers Dr. V. Masilamani, Professor at IITDM Kanchipuram, and Dr. B. Surendiran, Associate Professor at NIT Puducherry, Karaikal, along with coordinators Dr. N. Vijayaraj and Dr. S. Saran Raj, organizing committee members, and participants.

The welcome address was given by Mrs. D. Hemalatha, who welcomed the delegates, chief guests, and participants present at the inaugural event. She highlighted the motive behind the AICTE-sponsored event VAANI and its significance. The proceedings continued with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the delegates and chief guests, who were then honored by the Registrar and Deans.

The special address was delivered by the Registrar, who emphasized the importance and necessity of the event. He conveyed his gratitude to the AICTE for providing the opportunity to conduct this three-day workshop at our institute. This was followed by Dean R&D, who appreciated the initiative taken by the AICTE VAANI Scheme to promote regional language-based workshops aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge of recent technologies in Generative Artificial Intelligence.

Dean SoC also welcomed all participants, both internal and external, from various universities and IT industries. He expressed gratitude towards the institute for providing the necessary support to make the event a grand success. The Head of the Department highlighted the event’s importance in today’s learning environment and commended the organizing committee’s commendable efforts for the AICTE VAANI workshop.

Valedictory

The Valedictory Function of the workshop was graciously hosted by Dr. K. Rajathi, marking the formal conclusion of the event. A notable highlight was a video presentation that encapsulated the essence of the entire workshop, providing a visual recap of the journey from Session 1 to Session 12 and reflecting on the overall success of the event.

Following the video, Dr. S.P. Chokkalingam, Dean of the School of Computing (SoC), delivered an inspiring valedictory address. In his speech, Dr. Chokkalingam expressed his deep appreciation to all the participants who attended the workshop from various institutions, acknowledging their active engagement and enthusiasm throughout the sessions. He also took the opportunity to commend the organizing team for their unwavering dedication, specifically recognizing the contributions of Dr. N. Vijayaraj (Event Coordinator) and Dr. S. Saran Raj (Co-Coordinator) in making the workshop a resounding success. He concluded by offering his best wishes for the future, encouraging continued efforts in organizing such impactful and knowledge-rich events.

As a gesture of appreciation, certificates were distributed to the participants by Dr. S.P. Chokkalingam, Dr. M. Manikandan (Resource Person for Sessions 11 and 12), Dr. N. Vijayaraj, and Dr. S. Saran Raj. In addition to certificates, participants received pen drives containing all the workshop materials, equipping them with resources to further enhance their learning.

Special recognition was awarded to the organizing committee members, including Dr. T. Kamaleshwar (Associate Professor, CSE), Dr. A. Muthukrishnan (Associate Professor, CSE), Dr. D. Sundaranarayana (Associate Professor, CSE), Mr. Syed Fiaz A. S. (Assistant Professor, CSE), Mr. Siva Rama Lingham N. (Assistant Professor, CSE), Mr. G. Rajesh (Assistant Professor, CSE), Mr. K. Prabakaran (Assistant Professor, CSE), Mr. T. M. Sivanesan (Assistant Professor, CSE), and Mrs. K. Rajathi (Associate Professor, CSE). Each received certificates in recognition of their invaluable contributions, which were instrumental in the seamless execution of the workshop. Their teamwork and dedication were key to the event’s success, showcasing the collaborative effort that made this experience enriching for all.

The function concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. N. Vijayaraj, who expressed gratitude to all involved for making the event a grand success. Following the vote of thanks, the workshop ended on a high note with the playing of the National Anthem, signifying a proud and fitting closure to the event.
