About Us

The academic office is essential for the effective management of academic operations within the institute, ensuring that students receive high-quality education, faculty are adequately supported, and academic policies are uniformly enforced. Serving as the main centre for various academic functions, the office oversees key activities that enhance the overall academic environment. It collaborates closely with faculty on curriculum development, designing and updating programs that align with educational objectives and industry requirements. The office is crucial in course scheduling, optimizing the use of resources, classrooms, and faculty to ensure effective course delivery.

In addition, the academic office is vital in promoting student success by managing the registration process, providing academic advice, and ensuring accurate documentation of academic progressBy facilitating communication among academic departments and faculty, the office greatly enhances the quality of education offered at the institute.

Dr. S. Raju

Dean – Academics, Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
Prof. (Dr.) Raju Shanmugam currently works as a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and serves as the Dean (Academics) at Vel Tech University. He completed his Post-Graduate studies in Computer Applications (MCA) from the Presidency (Autonomous), University of Madras. Additionally, he holds a Post-Graduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering (ME – CSE) and a Ph.D. in the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) with a specialization in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Anna University Chennai. He has also cleared the UGC NET for Lectureship. With 29 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, Prof. Raju Shanmugam has held key positions such as Dean of the School of Computing, Director of IQAC, and Controller of Examinations (CoE) with reputed institutions in India and abroad. Some of the institutions he had worked with include SVCE, Amity University Mauritius, Amity University Mumbai, VIT Bhopal University, Galgotias University Delhi NCR, and Karnavati University, Gujarat.
