OMBUDSMAN FOR THE REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES

Under PART III SECTION 4 of the miscellaneous Notifications of the UGC, Lr. N.V. Badarinath Judge, Debts Tribunal Department of Financial Services, Govt. of Tamil Nadu held the position of Ombudsman earlier as per the directive of  the University Grants Commission (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2012.

Now, a judicial officer Mr. V. Ramamurthy, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Retd) has been appointed as an ombudsman for three years from 03.10.2022.

The primary purpose of the office of the Ombudsman is to protect the interests, rights, and privileges of students, staff, and faculty at all levels of University operations and programs.

The Ombudsman has the authority and responsibility to informally investigate academic and non-academic concerns referred to him.

“In case of matters concerning weaker sections such as SCs/STs/OBCs or minorities, the ombudsman can co-opt a person of eminence from the area coming from the weaker section to assist him in arriving at a decision

As per the direction of the UGC, this information regarding details of the Ombudsman of this Institution are prominently displayed in the official website of Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology for the notice of the Faculty, Staff, students and the public.
