Dr. Monimoy Saha has joined as Dean (Hostels & Security) and Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai on 31st December 2024.
Dr. Saha started his career with Indian Air Force at the age of 20 years and performed his role on MIG-21 fighter aircraft for 20 years in many forwarded bases of the Indian Air Force. During this tenure he completed AMIE in Mechanical Engineering from The Institution of Engineers (India) and M-Tech in Product Design and Manufacturing from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.
On completion of initial engagement with Indian Air Force, Dr. Saha joined C-CADD division, National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore for SARAS project. Later he worked five years as Assistant Professor in BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bangalore and BMS Institute of Technology (BMSIT), Bangalore. In between he worked as Project Manager at Murugappa Electronics Ltd., Chennai in the year 2008.

In 2013, he joined for full time Ph.D. at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore campus. He completed his Ph.D. within three years and joined as Assistant Professor at DY Patil School of Engineering, Lohegaon, Pune and later became Associate Professor in the same Institution. During his academic role he published many papers in national and International journals and conferences and guided many BE and two ME projects and managed to get three central government funds.
In 2018, Dr. Saha joined NMIMS University (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies), Mumbai as Director (Hostel Administration) and worked three years.
In the year 2020, Dr. Saha obtained Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security Management from MSBTE, Mumbai and also he obtained MBA degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) from YCMOU, Nasik in the year 2021.
In 2021, Dr. Saha joined as Deputy Director (Facilities, Administration & student wellbeing) and Associate Professor (Operations Management) in Universal AI University, Mumbai. Further he worked as Dean (Discipline, Safety & Security) and Professor, Mechanical Engineering, QIS group of educational Institutions, Ongole, Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Saha possess rich experience for more than 35 years in the area of armed forces, corporate, academic, administration and R & D.
Dr. Saha has been awarded Long Service & Good Conduct Service Medal (LS & GSM) for the Year 2006 by the Indian Air Force on 15th August 2006
