Dr. K. Jagajjanani Rao
Dean - Research Studies
Dr. K Jagajjanani Rao, Professor (Research) in Biotechnology and the Dean (Research Studies) at Vel Tech University. He completed his M.Tech and Ph.D. in Green Synthesis and Bionanotechnology from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha, and was awarded the prestigious BIRAC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2015-2018) from the Department of Biotechnology.
With approximately 14 years of experience in biotechnology research, Dr. K. J. Rao has made significant contributions through his innovative research and numerous scholarly publications. He has successfully acquired funding for four sponsored projects from DST/DBT (serving as Principal Investigator for two and Co-Principal Investigator for two), published 33 international papers, authored three book chapters, and holds five patents.
As Dean of Research Studies, he is dedicated to enhancing the quality and impact of doctoral research programs, providing mentorship to emerging researchers, and promoting a culture of excellence and integrity in research. His role involves creating and enforcing strategic policies for doctoral research, ensuring ethical compliance, and managing resources effectively. He supports faculty and students by offering guidance, organizing training, encouraging interdisciplinary research, fostering collaborations, and facilitating access to funding opportunities. Dr. K. J. Rao is committed to elevating the institution’s research profile and driving scientific advancements.
